The grow of games filesize
There is a release of classic games collections on my favourite tracker Filelist.org, one torrent for each year.
Funny notice is to see how the size of collection grows geometricaly. Collection of best games in 1980 is only 75 KB and as the time goes, KB are replaced with MB and GB.
What’s inside? Treasure! Best of 1994 includes stuff like: Doom, Doom2, Heretic, Quarantine, System Shock, Warcraft, Descent… OMFG that was good year!
jQuery listnav plugin
Fresh from jQuery mailinglist is announcement, that nice navigation plugin has been released. Works as alphabetic filter on long list.
Seems to be pretty fast, OK configurable so I say OK. Can’t wait to use it.
Animoto - the end of slideshows
As I was reading something about cloud computing I surfed to cool website Animoto. The idea is simple, you select photos + music and Animoto makes the rest. So in the end you have video that is something between boring slideshow and music clip in MTV style.
You don’t have to upload images from your computer, Amimoto can grab them from some image hosting sites, good for me, Flickr is included (I would be wondering if Flickr wasn’t included). Audio can be clicked from inner library or you can upload it.
The bussines model is average - you can have some fun for free and if you want more, you have to pay. For free you can can make 30 seconds clips, upload them to Youtube or embed them into web page. For a few $$$ you can make long clips (limited only by music or amount of photos), download in DVD quality or order real DVD. Sounds pretty cool for me, probably I’ll give a try and make long clip with photos form september vacation, because the 30 sec version is watchable.
